name; Siren
age; Yearling
gender; Male
breed; Collie x Golden Retriever
physical appearance; On the smaller side of medium, Siren is more of a collie's build, but definitely has a golden retriever's fur colour. His fur is long, silky and a beautiful golden hue. His ears are pointed and sit atop his head, his eyes are coffee coloured. His tail is longand wavy, and often his fur curls at the end, especially around his ears. The gold lightens and turns into a creamy white colour around his chest, legs, muzzle, and tail. Siren constantly has a reckless grin on his face, and his eyes dance with a carefree, fun-loving fire. Siren is a handsome dog, and he knows it. He takes good care of himself, so his coat gleams and is clean, while most other wild dogs are dirty and don't really care. It is hard to tell much about Siren from his appearance, but he isn't a very good fighter. He is a pretty good hunter though. He's fast, but not amazingly fast. He's pretty average in everything but looks. Then again, sometimes that can make up for everything else.
personality; Siren is, to say the least, big-headed. He is obsessed with how he looks, and grooms himself constantly. Others often think of him as shallow at first, but they don't realise that he feels like his good looks are all he has left. The habit of grooming himself as much as caninely possible he inherited from his father, so that's really not his fault. When his family left him, the amount of lonliness that came over him was almost unbearable. That same lonliness is still in him, but he hides it by laughing, and acting like he doesn't care. And when he acts like he doesn't care, he does 'daring' things, that are completely insane and extremely dangerous. He is a big show-off, and not very popular by other males. Siren, when he's alone, is a completely different dog. Or when he's with one or two other dogs that he trusts. When you look at him, it seems like he has no fears in the world, as he walks across a ten-foot fence with a grin on his face. But really, he has more fears than you could ever dream of. Fear of rejection, fear of lonliness, fear of being alone, to name only a few. When you look into those big brown eyes of his, and see past the recklessness, you find something more. A desperate, scared, lonely dog, little more than a puppy lost in this world with no one to guide him.
Siren has forgotten what love feels like. And when you haven't loved or been loved for as long as he has, it's hard to even believe that it exists. That is exactly how Siren feels. To him, love is just a myth that someone made up one night, and that myth was told and re-toled to others so many times that people forgot what was fact and what was just a story. But that doesn't stop him with flirting with females, or even going further than that with them. He just doesn't really love them. It would help him love, you can suppose, if he actually knew how to. But without even a mother or a brother to help him with that, it's gonna take a lot more time than it would any other dog to fall in love. Despite all that, on evenings when he's on his own and sees two dogs together, a male and a female, it makes him wonder. Are they mates? If they are, why? What is it that makes a dog choose a certain dog to be his mate? Why not just choose the next dog who passes by? And, watching the pair with sad eyes, he wonders if he'll ever find out, and if he'll ever understand it enough to choose someone special himself.
Siren isn't a very strong believer in Vir, but seeing as he's got nothing else to believe in anymore, has decided to worship him in the smallest ways possible. He would never get into a fight with anyone over the religion, because everyone's got their own opinion, and that's fine with him. There are some things he doesn't quite understand about the god, but he ignores it for now and simply hopes that someday he'll figure it out.
history; He watched from the shadows with a heavy heart as his mother and father started to argue again. It had started about how long it had taken his father to come back with food for the family, and how worried his mother had been, but then it had developed and evolved and had gone from subject to subject, until it was just mindless screaming. He hid with his brothers and sisters, shaking and afraid. The sight horrified them, it made them want to cry, but they couldn't look away. If dogs could cry, the four of them would have been sobbing uncontrollably. But instead they simply hid and watched their parents, who had once loved each other so much and were now going at each other as though it were a war. It was as though the four 6-month-olds were watching their lives fall apart right before their eyes.
It hadn't always been like this. There was a time when they had lived together happily. Their mother and father had loved each other, and the four puppies had been able to play outside, carefree and happy that they were alive. But then the fighting started. They couldn't even remember why. But their parents did not act the same. It had been happening for the past month, and it looked like this was the breaking point. Male and female alike looked like the wanted nothing more than to tear the other apart. But before they went to far, the golden retriever, the mother, simply turned and ran. She left her four puppies, her mate, her whole family. One of the female puppies whimpered and ran after her. The father, while the puppies were calling their sister back, had run away too, in the other direction. The three dogs who were left stared at each other. They had been taught how to survive, and they probably could by themselves. But they didn't know if they could bare simply leaving this place. Suddenley Siren broke too. It would hurt to leave, but it would be more painful to just stay, in that place where everything had gone wrong. He ran too, long and hard, not knowing or caring where he was going or what he was doing.
